We grow through what we go through.

One day this week the holy spirit placed this upon my heart. I have felt for a while I needed to write another blog and I know that this will be for someone who needs encouragement.

It is so true and sometimes we don’t realize that through the storms and battles we face in life, God is helping us to grow. Growth is something that many of us find challenging especially if it means we are facing difficulties. But, let’s rejoice in the hard times because that is truly when we will see beautiful fruit begin to grow.

Just like it says in Romans 5:3-5, ‘we rejoice in our sufferings knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the holy spirit who has been given to us.’

There are lots of things that happen in our life and we go through so much. We can be grateful for little things like the new day, breath in our lungs, being able to sing a song of praise and pray. One important thing to hold onto is that God is with us and He is so close to us whether we go through a joyful or a hard season. He is with us in the good and bad times. In our storms, Jesus is our peace. He helps us through and so being grateful is very important.

One thing that I've been doing during the sufferings and storms I face is I fall to my knees before my father. It is one of the most powerful declarations we can do, giving our hearts to him. Every morning when I wake up, instead of scrolling on social media, I go to my father who is the ultimate fulfilment for my soul. Everything I have and do is because of Him. Everything we do must bring him the glory and honour he truly deserves. We should be laying our life down to him each day and allowing the king of our hearts to re-enter in and to change us from the inside. The power of Jesus can do more than we can think, whatever we face He is already fighting it for us.

This season has been difficult for us all in different ways. The most definite thing that hasn’t changed is the Grace and love of our father and our saviour Jesus Christ.

One thing I want you to know is the king of heaven is with you right now and His arms are around you. He knows how you are feeling, the doubt, the fear, the sadness, the joy, even through the loss, whatever you are feeling His love takes over it all.

I have never been more adamant that the things we go through are there to strengthen us and help us to grow closer to our father. Sometimes we don't always understand why it's us that has to go through it, and I'm telling you we don't need to because Jesus knows and that's all that matters. Our saviour, the creator of the world knows all things and that means the things we face. I want to encourage you and tell you we will all see beautiful blessings on the other side of this hard season.

Growth is so crucial because without it we wouldn’t be blossoming into the man/woman of God that we have been created to be. God knows that in order for us to get to where He wants us, we sometimes have to go through things to increase our faith and our trust in Him. For us to be able to walk into the future He has planned, He has to refine us and shape us and that means facing some storms. Even Jesus told us that this life as a Christian won’t be easy. Nothing comforts me more than knowing my saviour, Jesus, and how He knows what this world is like and knows the tribulation we face and still is there to help us. Victory is in the name of Jesus and with Him right by our side we have the strength to get through it all.

In John 16:33 it says, ‘In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.’

As we go through the last few days of 2020 and walk into a new year full of God’s wonderful promises, lets not forget that Jesus has overcome the world. Whatever happens, we can trust in the one who has conquered death and who brings new life to all of us. You might be going through a really hard time, but I want you to know right now that your suffering does not disqualify you from knowing the king of heaven. He wants you and is waiting patiently for you to come. I ask you now to invite Jesus into your heart and declare the name of Jesus over your storm and He will calm it, in time, just like He always has and always will.

Whatever our life holds for us, let’s affirm our trust in the one who has gone before us. My dear friends, let’s rest in the assurance that no matter the season God is good and His love never fails.

Remember we are precious children of God.

Chosen.

Appointed.

Restored.

Set free.

Redeemed.

Forgiven.

Set Apart.

and most importantly deeply loved.
