Perceptions can change but your purpose remains the same.

No matter where you are, God has a purpose for you. Whether you are where you want to be or not, God has blessed you abundantly to love others and to declare the gospel of Jesus Christ to those around you.

Having a perception means focusing on something and knowing how you feel about it. I have recently discovered that these can change over time. I want to encourage you and say that it’s okay. As we grow and adapt to the situations around us, we are going to question our perceptions. The way we view things will change but the plan God has for our lives won’t affect our purpose.

I want you to know that God values you and you have multiple opportunities to grow His kingdom. We only have to open our eyes and allow Him to lead us for someone to experience His love. To enable a beautiful new life to blossom is one of the most amazing things we could ever do as a child of God.

One thing we know is true is that life is hard and I would say even more so if you are a Christian. Just like Jesus says in John 16:33, that we will have trouble in this world but we must take heart because He has overcome the world.

I am not sure about you, but I am in that stage right now where I just want Covid to disappear. I want to go out with friends and have fun other than just stay inside and go for the occasional walk. I bet you have felt tired of everything that is going on due to Covid19. But God has been reminding me of the importance this week to not look at the circumstances but to focus on Him. Because when we do, we will be filled with His peace and the certainty that no matter what happens, we are safe with Him.

Covid19 has changed a lot of things but what it hasn’t changed is who we are in Him. We are children of God, born and bred from above. For our home is not here, for our home is in heaven. We are simply travellers on a journey exploring the wonderful world our father made. We have so much to look forward to and how exciting that we can hold onto the truth that one day we will be with Jesus. He will come to bring us home. Our journey isn't over if we still have breath in our lungs. We still have a purpose and a mission that has been chosen by God. God is still wanting to use us everyday. We, as His children, have to open our hearts and allow Him to use us.

I am one to sometimes find it hard to know what God wants me to do. I know that is all down to not spending enough time with Him. Our father craves quality time with His children. Just like someone special in our lives wants to spend time with us. That is just like God. He created you and so wants to spend even more quality time with you.

You know another important thing to understand is that there are many seasons we go through, some hard, some easy, but what does not change is God’s purpose for our life.

Things might not happen the way we thought but God’s plan is so much greater. When we go through hard seasons in life we must hold onto the promise of God that he will always be with us, wherever we are we can step into his presence. Nothing and no one will ever be able to take you away from His love.

‘Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.’
Romans 8:39

If there is one thing I’ve learnt in this season it is to let go of plans that I wanted to happen and focus more on Jesus. By focusing on the one who knows all things we can be sure that he will get us to where he wants us. We do not have to be afraid but simply trust.

For us humans, we do find it hard to trust and to hold onto things but I can tell you today that if you keep your eyes on Jesus, everything will flow nicely together. Let’s not lose trust in the one who has gone before us. He promises that his way is better and that simply is true indeed.

Let’s all together keep our eyes on Jesus. On Him who can provide refreshing living water and simply a life overflowing with love, joy and peace.

Merry Christmas my wonderful friends and I hope 2021 is a beautiful one!

God bless,
