The Top Countries on my bucket list.

The places listed below are those I am very interested in visiting over the next 5 years. My bucket list is very long, so I just thought I would mention a few places that I would love to go to once restrictions have eased. I have visited one place already, but through the airport based on me travelling to Sydney and needing to transfer. I am not counting that because I have not seen the country.

Okay, let’s go!

Number 1. Santorini, Greece

This has always been a place I would love to visit and explore. I remember the first time I saw a picture of this beautiful country and ever since, Greece in general has been a country I would love to see. For those who don't know, Santorini is one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea.

With its stunning white houses of its 2 principal towns, Fira and Oia, its the perfect holiday or even honeymoon destination.

The white houses overlook the sea, small islands to the west and beaches that are made up of black, red and white lava pebbles. The best time to visit Santorini is from September to October and April to May when the weather is warm and the crowds are scarce. This is a country you need to visit in warmer weather.

Number 2. Milan, Italy

Who else wants to go shopping in Milan? It has always been a dream of mine to explore both the history and also the shops in this wonderful city. Milan is a metropolis in Italy's northern Lombardy region. It is a global capital of fashion and design and it’s a financial hub known for its high-end restaurants and shops.

The Gothic 'Duomo di Milano' cathedral and the Santa Maria delle Grazie convent, housing Leonardo da Vinci’s mural “The Last Supper,” testify to centuries of art and culture. These are a few of many reasons why I want to come to Milan. What a stunning place to visit and explore!

Number 3. Dubai, UAE

I travelled through Dubai when I went to Sydney and have done it a few times actually. The airport in itself is absolutely stunning! Dubai is a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates known for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene. One main place I would love to visit or even stay in (if I can afford it) is the Burj Khalifa. The Burj Khalifa is an 830m-tall tower, which dominates the skyscraper-filled skyline.

At its foot lies Dubai Fountain, with jets and lights choreographed to music. I have always wanted to see this light show and its one of the main things that is drawing me to go to Dubai. Also, on artificial islands just offshore is Atlantis, The Palm, a resort with water and marine-animal parks. Dubai is also a wonderful place to see with it’s beautiful skyline and fancy events.

Number 4. Wellington. New Zealand

I have always been told that New Zealand is just like the U.K and so I want to go and venture and find out for myself. With my plans of living in Sydney, I will hopefully find a free week and go and visit. For those who don’t know, Wellington is the capital of New Zealand. It sits near the North Island’s southernmost point on the Cook Strait. It is a very compact city, as it encompasses a waterfront promenade, sandy beaches, a working harbour and colourful timber houses on surrounding hills.

It looks like such a wonderful city. From Lambton Quay, the iconic red Wellington Cable Car heads to the Wellington Botanic Gardens. I am not sure about you, but Botanic Gardens are always on my list to see, I love anything floral and love walking around looking at them. They are so beautiful. One funny fact about Wellington is that Strong winds through the Cook Strait give it the nickname "Windy Wellington." What a funny name, but a beautiful place to visit.

Number 5. New York, USA

Myself, my sister and one of my best friends have always wanted to go to New York and so this is at the top of my bucket list. Just being in the city with the yellow cabs and then seeing a show on Broadway are two of multiple reasons why I want to travel here. New York City comprises 5 boroughs sitting where the Hudson River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Simply stunning.

At its core is Manhattan, a densely populated borough that’s among the world’s major commercial, financial and cultural centres. Its iconic sites include skyscrapers, such as the Empire State Building and Central Park. I need to mention the Broadway theatre which is staged in neon-lit Times Square! Just writing that I get excited, and out of all of these countries and cities, New York is my favourite to explore. I know I won't be here anytime soon but when it's safe to travel I know me, my sister and my bestie will be boarding a plane. To New York. Without a doubt. (hopefully before we all turn 30 too haha!)

So there we go! My top 5 countries I would love to visit and explore. I will probably do another blog in the future about my actual bucket list. It is super long. I might as well just say I want to go everywhere. But, we will see.

God bless,

Stay safe,
