Racism is the devil's work.

Racism is evil. Racism is not okay. It defiles a person’s soul and makes them feel unwanted, scared, fearful, and unloved. Our black brothers and sisters should not have to feel this way. Period. As a follower of Jesus, I know this is wrong and I hope you do too. This is not what being a christian is about. Love must always be our priority.

Racism should never be learnt.

‘No one is born hating another person because of the colour of His skin, or His background, or His religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can learn to love.’ - Nelson Mandela.

To think that people are taught to hate is absolutely barbaric. I just can’t get my head around it. I hope and pray that you know love should always come first. That everyone deserves to be loved. I pray that you will teach your children to love and to accept all races within our nations.

I am so grateful for the upbringing I had, as my parents told me to accept EVERY man and woman of EVERY race with love and open arms. Just like Jesus does. Unfortunately, many children are taught wrong from the moment they are born. Language and action has a huge impact on a child’s life. Negative speech and hurtful activity can be copied by children. You only have to look at when we say something by mistake and they repeat it. It’s there. Hence, why we need to be the generation to change that. For their sake just as much as ours.

Psalm 19:14 ‘Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.’

Jesus is protection for the oppressed.

Psalm 129: vs 1, 2 and 4.

‘Since my youth they have often attacked me - let Israel say - since my youth they have often attacked me, but they have not prevailed against me. The Lord is righteous; he has cut the ropes of the wicked.’

It is hard to understand why some people do what they do. Why is there so much hatred towards others? What is it that is causing so much soul destruction? I will tell you one thing. His name is the devil or some people call him Satan. He will try to bring you down any way that He can. During times of oppression, you have to hold onto God’s promises that He is your refuge and your shelter in times of trouble. Jesus is your protection and He is always fighting for you, all you have to do is trust in him.

Just like Jesus says in John 16:33 ‘For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous.’

As children of the light, we must not allow this evil to prevail. We must stand up for our black brothers and sisters and help them to make change happen. For we know who we are and whose we are! Do not forget that even Jesus knows what it is like to live in a world that consists of evil. Therefore, brothers and sisters, let’s not lose hope when we go through times of trouble. Jesus is right there, with you, fighting the schemes of the devil. Because that is who He is!

The reason I called this blog ‘Racism is the devil’s work’ is because the devil is trying to tear apart every piece of our lives. That is just what He wants to do. He does not want us to receive the fullness of life that is available in Jesus Christ. Have you ever noticed that ‘Evil’ is in His name!? I want you to know that hate does not relate to God, it is NOT who He is. He is Our father who is all-knowing, all loving, kind, compassionate and wants a relationship with everyone He has fearfully and wonderfully made.

Anything that is evil and which does not line up with God’s word is not of God. For we know that God is love. That is who He is!

1 John 4:16; ‘God is love! Those who are living in love are living in God, and God lives through them.’

It is pretty simple to understand that bible verse that if you are loving others then you are living in God. You are doing His will. Also, if God is living through us we are experiencing His goodness.

Friends, I know this is a challenging topic, but things need to be said. We need to have these types of discussions to grow and to learn more about how we can help others to overcome injustice and oppression. But most importantly, how we can make an impact to change the way society works.

Racism is a lack of salvation.

Salvation is found in Jesus Christ. In His name alone. To receive salvation we must each day give our lives to Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. We all get things wrong, we are not perfect. But Jesus is and He died on the cross in our place so we can have eternal life with Him and not die. We must not take our salvation for granted, it is real and those of you who think it’s okay to ignore it obviously have not understood the importance of such a decision.

Just like C. S. Lewis states; The Glory of God, and, as our only means of glorifying Him, the salvation of human souls, is the real business of life.’ To receive salvation is to know who you belong to. For we are children of God and so therefore, we must take salvation very seriously.

1 John 2:11 ‘But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness.’

To be in darkness is to not be in the light. As Christians, we know that Jesus is the light of the world. Therefore, those who don't love, walk in darkness. They have not experienced the fullness of life and hope that Jesus brings. Just like Nelson Mandela said, no one is born a racist, you are taught to hate. But let’s remember that we can be taught to love through Jesus Christ. We can learn to love by looking at Jesus and allowing His life to influence our hearts in what we do and what we say.

I started this blog so you could be encouraged and know that you are not alone. From reading this blog I hope you receive wisdom and understanding that everything we do matters in relation to our salvation and to the Kingdom of God. As God’s children, you are His sons and daughters, you are accepted, you are chosen, you are forgiven, you are loved, you are worthy, and you have purpose!

So, let’s remember to check our hearts to see if they are positioned right for God’s glory and if not, we can come to God and ask Him to change how we think and act towards others. Because He can help us to grow in love and restore our hearts for a greater purpose!

The only cure for pride

is humility.

The only cure for bitterness

is love.

The only cure for fear

is faith.

The only cure for blindness

is to seek.

----

Seek the Lord for His peace

before you seek the world in its.

Seek the Lord for His truth

before you seek the world for its.

Seek the Lord for His Love

before you ask the world for its.

Seek the Lord for His Justice

before you ask the world for its.

Seek the Lord for His Power

before you join the world in its.

Seek the Lord for His Heart

before you join the world in its.

Seek the Lord for His Wisdom

before you sound like the world and

Seek the Lord for His Purpose

before the world finds you in its.

Therefore, as followers of Jesus together let's stand up against the oppressors and make change happen!
